Do I need Access installed on my PC to run CONTACTfile? The full version of Microsoft Access is not needed to run CONTACTfile, but you must have at least a runtime version. If you have Access version 2000 or later installed, just download CONTACTfile. Otherwise, download "Access Runtime" before you download CONTACTfile itself. It's free, and will give you everything you need.
I have downloaded CONTACTfile but it won't work. I realise that this is because I didn't have Access
installed. What should I do?Use the Control Panel to uninstall CONTACTfile. Then download "Access Runtime". Finally, reinstall CONTACTfile.
I use Outlook Express. Can I use the Office versions of CONTACTfile with this? No. If you want to use the Office version of CONTACTfile, you must have the correct full version of Outlook installed beforehand. The ordinary version of CONTACTfile interacts with Outlook Express, but compared with the Office version there is less functionality.
I originally had Outlook version 2003, and bought the Office 2003 version of CONTACTfile to match
it. I now want to update to Office 2007. Will CONTACTfile continue to work properly? No, you will get errors. Backup your data, uninstall CONTACTfile for Office 2003 and install CONTACTfile for Office 2007. This is free, but you will need a new passcode so make sure you obtain one first.
